1870 (29th Aug) proving cover confirming the use of the 9 Bar 8 numeral obliterator at Fremantle. Obliterator tied 2d yellow swan stamp to cover with Fremantle cds below dated AU 29 1870. Listed as the 4th item in Pope Reynolds census of known proving covers. Perth transit on reverse dated AU 29 1870 & Bunbury arrival on front for AU 30. Tatty item showing its age but useful confirmation for this BN.
