Frame 1 Contains 1871 3d brown imperf No.1 plate proof lower right selvedge block of 10 ovptd "CANCELLED", inter-panneau block of 9, CR/CC wmk & a single ovptd "SPECIMEN" plus a mourning cover with single franking to Victoria with Albany 15 bar 6 obliterator cancel before 1885 "1d." surcharge in green on 3d brown, Crown CC wmk, in top left pane block of 20 with 4 rows in five vertical columns with wing margins at the base noting the 4 base stamps with "Thin 1" & first stamp in 3rd row with "missing serif". Also pale brown & brown used examples of "thin 1". Continues with 1885 ½d green, Crown CA wmk, imperf plate proof block of 4, an inter-panneau top selvedge block of 4 & a top left Plate 1 block of 10 (5x2) plus a "Medical" ovpt, a pair with "PWD" punctures & 2 postcards, a lettercard & 3 x covers showing usage. The 1890 1d CR/CA wmk is on a postcard & 4 covers showing usage before 1890 2d Cr/CA wmk with 2 Plate 1 blocks of 4 for lower left & top right, an amazing F/U block of 52 stamps used at Nullagine in 1899 plus 2 covers showing usage. 1882 3d brown CR/A wmk single franking on cover, a piece with 14 showing fiscal usage & lower right corner Plate 1 block of 8 plus imperf plate block of 4. Frame 2 This section contains the rare adopted hand painted essay in red-brown paint on brown paper with Richard Johnson Cert. (2022) plus a master Die proof in black on white card attached to cream coloured paper with" Feb 10 120 leads" in black ink & "April 14.96" in red before 2½d CR/CA wmk with 3 covers, 2 singly franked, the other in multifranking before 1890 4d chestnut, CR/CA wmk, top right Plate 1 selvedge block of 4 with 4 singly franked covers, 1 perfined "WA". 1892 5d yellow-olive, CR/CA wmk, right & left Plate 1 blocks of 4 & lower right corner selvedge block of 4 showing perforating guidelines plus 2 singly franked covers, again, 1 perfined "WA". 6d violet in right selvedge Plate 1 block of 8 (4x2) fiscally used & Registered Coolgardie to Tasmania cover plus a single franked OHMS cover with stamp perfined "WA" while 1890 1/-olive-green comes with Plate 1 lower left selvedge block of 4, fiscally used blocks of 12 & Plate 1 strips of 3 & 4. A block of 6 with Cogwheel "R" postal marking. 1893 1d surcharge on 3d brown CR/CC wmk block of 4 & block of 6 showing progressive offset of ovpt & a Gingin to Guildford cover before 1895 ½d surcharge in red & green inks on 3d Crown wmk CR/CC with 2 singles & a block of 4, C/A wmk is used & 3 mint plus single on piece. 1895 ½d surcharge in green ink on 3d brown, CR/CC wmk, in lower left selvedge "No.52" vertical pair plus Inter-panneau block of 12 with wing margins on the 6 middle stamps. Continues with 1881 3d lilac surcharges I.R. / 2d in black with fine postally used blocks of 4 & 6 & a single franking on cover to Fremantle with a strip of 4 on another local Perth cover. Amongst the others are various wmks noting 2d MLH with all values used to 1/- (3), single franked 1d covers x 3 & a multi-franked cover to NZ with 3d I.R. stamp & 2d yellow swans pair.. Frame 3 This frame incls 1899 1d carmine, W CR A wmk, imperf plate proof pair & Plate 2 top right selvedge block of 12 (4x3)plus Plate B lower right block of 15 showing Jubilee lines at right & base & perforation guidelines. Also 2 multifranked covers with one to Canada from Hamilton Macrae & Co (Perth), the other to an English foreign stamp importer. The 1899 2d Die proof black on white card on cream card has "Aug 25 240 Leads" in in m/s in black ink & "Oct 4th 1897 repeat Plate No.2" below. Incls 2d yellow in lower right Plate 2 selvedge block of 36 (6x6) with Jubilee lines on 3 sides, imperf Plate proof block of 4 & a single franking on cover before 1899 2½d blue top right corner imperf Plate proof block of 4 & Plate 1 lower right selvedge block of 4 while a single has been used on Registered envelope with date in m/s & addressed to Germany plus a large envelope with triple franking from Perth to England. 1897 W CR A wmk incls 6d Die proof in black ink on card with "9 DEC 96" in blue ink & "BEFORE HARDENING" in black ink & top selvedge violet plate proof block of 4 plus F/U block of 4follows with a cover & part of "Statistical Register of Western Australia" wrapper to Germany. 1899 W CR A wmk with 1/- Die proof on card "BEFORE HARDENING" in black & "19 JAN 97" in blue before top selvedge imperforate Plate proof of 4. Useful postally used block of 6 multifranked cover to Germany. 1885-1899 Crown/CA wmk ovptd "Specimen" (7 values ½d to 1/-), OPT "Ultramar" in blue on 2d yellow. Frame 4 1902/12 V/CR wmk Melbourne Printings with 1902 1d rose red, blocks of 4 & 6, Cossack to Moora postcard plus 2 covers before 1903 2d yellow on Laverton to Tasmania cover, a Registered envelope with text in red uprated with 2 yellow Bridgetown to Perth & 1903 4d chestnut unused block of 4 plus postally used block of 6 & a F/U perf. 11 on Registered OHMS Mining Office printed postcard with Wardens Office Murchison Dept Office h/s & 4d perfined "WA" to Cue local address (became brittle with age - 2 pieces). Also, OHMS single franked cover to Cottesloe Beach, 1905 5d olive top left corner Plate 1 selvedge block of 4 (Perf. 11), 3d brown Registered envelope (red text) uprated with 5d olive to Berkin plus 1903 9d orange-red unused block of 6, yellow orange with upright wmk & orange-red, perf. 11 & 1903 10d rose-red bi-franked cover with 4d chestnut & 10d rose-red swans registered Perth to Germany. The 1902-1912 CR/A wmk Melbourne Printings with 1910 ½d green Plate 1 right selvedge block of 4, a single franking on Fremantle postcard & bi-franking on Victorian cover from Melbourne to Powlett River, Vic with 1905 1d rose-red in 3 mint blocks of 4 & on 1912 b&w postcard from Bunbury to Southern Cross. Also, a single on cover Perth to Victoria & mixed franking cover Fremantle to Boston, USA. The OHMS Land Titles Office cover from Perth to Midland Junction with various unclaimed h/s's completes an attractive frame. Frame 5 1905 2d yellow single frank cover Perth to Tasmania, neat Palace Hotel postmark on F/U block of 4, mint lower selvedge block of 15 & a bi-franked cover Mt Malcolm to Hobart plus a multi-franked Registered cover to England with attractive "Richard Purser & Co" illust cover Perth to America with ½d & 2d mixed franking. Also 1906 3d brown, perf. 11 block of 4 with reversed wmk MUH (ACSC W30aa Cat. $750 each, "Only a few examples are recorded with reversed watermark"), 3d brown Registered cover with red text uprated to Hobart, Plate 1 left selvedge block of 4 (reinforced) & perf. 12½x11 F/U multi-franked OHMS cover to Nangeenan & another to USA, both with perfined "OS" examples plus 1906 4d brown used with single double perforations at the top. Continues with OHMS registered cover to Coolgardie with "OS" perfin & a similar registered OHMS cover before perf. 11 used & perfined "OS" (ACSC W39Ab) & 1906 5d olive, perf. 11 in mint block of 4 & Registered cover from Yarloop to Hobart. Incls a mixed franking Registered cover to Germany before 1912 6d violet, Crown/Single-lined A wmk, in lower right selvedge Plate 1 block of 6 plus left margin block of 6 & 1906 9d yellow-orange, Crown/ Double-lined A, perf. 11 MUH (ACSC W53B) & 1d yellow-orange, perf. 12½ lower left selvedge block 4 MUH.
