1930 Lord Howe Island Sturt 1½d scarlet with "2d Paid PM LHI" in manuscript across each stamp in this block of 4. MVLH with BPA (1991) & Ceremuga (2007) Certs. On August 23, 1930 Postmaster of LHI, Stan Fenton, handwrote "2d Paid, PM, LHI" on these Australian stamps to allow for the price rise in postage pending new stock of 2d stamps. He believed he had the approval of Australia Post to allow for this overprint. A stunning multiple & scarcer than on cover.
